Designing The Future:  A design thinking workshop

In just a few hours you will gain an understanding of the principles of Design Thinking.  You will learn about the process as well as methods and tools to analyze user needs, generate ideas, and rapidly prototype.

About the Instructor:

I am a senior-level executive with 25 years of experience and a passion for building product lines, business units, and teams while driving innovation and delivering aggressive and profitable growth. A strategic leader with a record of developing, driving adoption & usage, and increasing customer satisfaction, my teams and I have developed over 1,000 products in the global B2B and B2C markets across a broad range of industries including education, technology, mobile, consumer goods, sports, services and retail. 

I have influenced big-picture strategic priorities, defined innovative strategies, and applied leadership best practices to drive results. As a key business partner and adviser to the Board, C-suite, senior leaders at the holding company, corporate, division and business unit level, my strategic insights and product management and marketing expertise have culminated in successful business transformation, steady growth and value creation. 

My focus on continuous improvement has resulted in the development of a deep expertise in product management including new product innovation, turning around underperforming products, inspiring continuous innovation of core products, implementing portfolio management frameworks and performance metrics, leading user experience (UX) and customer experience (CX) teams, and market research. I have also led the transformation from waterfall to Agile development methodologies at multiple companies.

As a General Manager, I have led start-up, turnaround, and growth stage businesses while focusing on strategic planning, business development, and customer acquisition & retention. I have driven multiple mergers and acquisitions (M&A) including negotiation of deal terms, due diligence, and integrations. 

I have a Bachelor in Business from Illinois State University and am Pragmatic Marketing certified. I have also been nominated for the Product Development and Management Associations (PDMA) Outstanding Innovator Award
